Throughout her career, Sonia has built solutions to enhance care for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid populations. She has collaborated with founders and early-stage boards to transform initial business models into scalable, sustainable growth strategies, and successful exits. Additionally, she has identified market trends, executed multi-year growth plans, expanded new business lines, and generated revenue growth for various healthcare organizations, including large national payers, mid-size tech-enabled service companies, and startups. Prior to Oxeon, Sonia served as Chief Commercial Officer at Maven Clinic, the first unicorn valuation in women and family health. She also held the position of Chief Growth Officer at Iora Health, where she contributed to the organization’s revenue and oversaw expansion that resulted in a $2.1 billion acquisition. Her leadership roles also include positions at Best Doctors, Health Dialog and UnitedHealthcare. Sonia's commitment to improving healthcare began during her time as a Maternal and Child Health Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, where she witnessed firsthand the consequences of a broken healthcare system. She currently serves on the boards of Clever Care Health Plan, Suvida Health, and Hopscotch Primary Care. Sonia holds a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College. She resides in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, where she and her partner are raising the next generation of strong women as the parents of two daughters.
